Kaeo - volunteers/helpers for our two community gardens

We have two community gardens in Kaeo and are always grateful for help. Both gardens are producing food and there is always some goodies to take home. Our gardens: Mangamanihi road - our gardening time is Fridays from 3pm til 5pm (this has also a food forest surrounding with loads of fruit trees!) Pupuke- te huia marae road- we garden on Saturdats from 10am til 12pm Both gardens are quite different and have a huge potential to feed us (and you) and the community!

Kaitaia-helpers needed for a Workshop creating a community garden Weds 13th Dec
Group request

Learn how to make a 'lasagna' garden and plant seedlings until around 11am, after which we can enjoy a shared potluck lunch and explore the forest/stream together (if you wish). Blessed to have Anna and Lynn joining us with their permaculture/gardening expertise and to show us how to put it all together. If you can, bring some garden clippings, manure, compost, anything that will add a layer to the soil is helpful. If you have excess herbs, vegetables or even shade cloth to create fencing that would add amazing support to our intention to grow enough excess to share with our community. Other help is needed bamboo cutting, mowing paddocks and general tidying. Or just bring yourself along and share your skills and time and enjoy a shared lunch with us, anything is much appreciated. Kerikeri Crop Swap Support Setting up & Packing down at Māra Tui

The Kerikeri Crop Swap is on the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month at Māra Tui at Kerikeri Organic, 3pm-4:30pm. It's a wonderful gathering of generous people keen to share from their gardens, it's open to anyone and operates as a koha economy - we all walk away with fruit, vegetables and plants depending what's been shared. Our facilitators need an extra pair of hands or two to help with the set up and to tidy up afterwards. If you are already a crop swapper or are keen to check it out. Come along and offer to lend a hand. Roughly 2 hours twice a month. There are also opportunities to do some gardening in exchange for Timebank hours. Check out my other listings for more details and get in touch!
