Learn how to make a 'lasagna' garden and plant seedlings until around 11am, after which we can enjoy a shared potluck lunch and explore the forest/stream together (if you wish). Blessed to have Anna and Lynn joining us with their permaculture/gardening expertise and to show us how to put it all together. If you can, bring some garden clippings, manure, compost, anything that will add a layer to the soil is helpful. If you have excess herbs, vegetables or even shade cloth to create fencing that would add amazing support to our intention to grow enough excess to share with our community. Other help is needed bamboo cutting, mowing paddocks and general tidying. Or just bring yourself along and share your skills and time and enjoy a shared lunch with us, anything is much appreciated. Would you like a part time relatively easy “time bank job”? You will learn how to identify weeds, how to care for and fertilise garden beds, harvest and more. can work you work independently and as part of a team? are you interested in plants, community and healthy nutritious food? would you like to support a valuable community garden and learning space? would you like access to fruit, vegetables and plants when available? We are looking for someone to do regular potting up of plants and cuttings in the Māra Tui, Kerikeri Organic. Once a week for a couple of hours, whenever it suits you would be ideal. Everything provided, just need some helping hands. Someone who can work independently or with a friend. We have pots, potting mix, seeds and various plants that need propagating. We would love to get a little nursery established. Get in touch if this is you!
