Hope Community Garden

Hope Community Garden The community garden is open 3 days per week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10.00 am – 1.00 pm. There is always something to do, weeding, planting, harvesting and a cuppa to be had. We are looking for people who are prepared to come and help when and if they can. The garden was closed for four months last year so we are currently looking to put more structure in the garden and keep on top of the gardening while we start again.

New Plymouth - Community Garden helpers needed for monthly working bee

Glenpark Ave Community Garden is a small orchard and veggie garden on the Huatoki Walkway at Glenpark Ave. We are looking for a new volunteer to join our small inner circle of key gardeners. Help us run working bees (Once a month, every second Sunday 2–4pm), water the vegetables over summer, and make decisions about the future of the garden. Be part of a warm and creative group of garden enthusiasts. Gardening knowledge welcomed but not necessarily required, just a generous spirit and time to participate. Our Community Maara needs manure. At the Hawera A&P Showgrounds there are large piles of manure near the horse stables area. Manure can be collected here for free. I need some help with my lawns, I don't have a shed to store a lawnmower in so I don't have one currently. The grass is getting a little out of hand. I have a weed hacker to do the edges, but the lawn itself needs mowing (potentially regularly in the next few weeks). It's only a small section for about 30min at my little tiny house in Woodend

Overgrown shrub removal

We have cut back all the greenery and sawn off most of the limbs. Please make contact if you can spare 20-30mins to chainsaw to ground level our broadleaf. My husband has chainsaw experience but no chainsaw to finish this job. We will be so grateful as slowly making our garden more manageable as we age.
