A local Timebank family lost everything in a house fire that happened recently. For now, their needs are non-perishable food items and fresh garden produce. They are a family of 4 with two young children. You can drop items to the Eco Centre in Kaitaia and local Coordinator Caryl will deliver these to the family. Anything is appreciated!

We have good condition clothing ready for a new home, so we are throwing open the doors and hosting a family friendly open day and great clothing rescue at Anō Anō in Kaitaia. This will be held on Saturday 13th of July from 10am -2pm.
We'd like to create a festive atmosphere and welcome the community in to check out our mahi, learn about our kaupapa, and hopefully gain an interest in the principals of 'rethink, reuse, repair'. Anyone will be welcome to fill a bag of clothing for a koha.
We need help in a variety a ways.
Setting up tables and boxes of clothing for the great clothing rescue from 9am.
Welcoming visitors and talking about Anō Anō, if you are familiar with how it works.
Any family friendly entertainment....especially music and simple childrens crafts.
We would welcome baking to share with our visitors.
Open to anything you think you could offer to make the day a fun affair.

We have two community gardens in Kaeo and are always grateful for help.
Both gardens are producing food and there is always some goodies to take home.
Our gardens:
Mangamanihi road - our gardening time is Fridays from 3pm til 5pm (this has also a food forest surrounding with loads of fruit trees!)
Pupuke- te huia marae road- we garden on Saturdats from 10am til 12pm
Both gardens are quite different and have a huge potential to feed us (and you) and the community!

We would like to do a workshop on building a solar food dehydrator, and are looking for someone to teach this. We have the plans and the materials needed, just need the right person to tutor. Open to suggestions as to where to do it, but could be in Kerikeri.

Would love to have some grapefruit for my breakfast. I'm happy to come and pick them (text me) or they could be dropped off at the EcoCentre for Nancy. (If you drop them off make sure you put your name on the bag/box).

Te Tai Tokerau Climate Action Conference 2023 is looking for local growers, foragers, creative caterers, Hāngī experts and those with Rongoā knowledge to help us showcase the amazing and diverse local kai Te Tai Tokerau has to offer. Our event is for 2 days, with morning and afternoon tea and lunch on each day.
We are thinking of having things like soup, seafood chowder, salads, fruit, baked goods with local flours like kūmara flour/oat flour etc and teas with locally grown herbal teas - Kawakawa, ginger, Kūmarahou, mānuka etc
The dates are the 7 and 8th of September and the event will be held in Whangārei at Forum North. Email or message me your thoughts and how much you would charge, as we have been given funding for this event.
