Come and help us keep compost and recycling out of landfill, keeping the beautiful Ngāmotu Beach area clean and tidy and helping the Seaside Market shoppers make the right decisions when disposing of their rubbish. There’s also the opportunity to help tend the innovative wash trailer as the market now uses reusable plates and cutlery. It’s a great atmosphere and the public are so encouraged by what we do in this space. Shifts available in March: Sunday 9:30am-12noon and 12noon-2:30pm, Sunday 9:30am-12noon and 12noon-2:30pm.

Glenpark Ave Community Garden is a small orchard and veggie garden on the Huatoki Walkway at Glenpark Ave. We are looking for a new volunteer to join our small inner circle of key gardeners. Help us run working bees (Once a month, every second Sunday 2–4pm), water the vegetables over summer, and make decisions about the future of the garden. On The House is a charitable organisation reducing food waste and getting good, surplus kai to those whom need it. We operate bi-weekly popup frees stores direct to the public on Mondays and Thursdays with volunteer shifts running for an average of 2.5 hours between 2pm and 6.30pm. We also support the regions Foodbanks and Community Groups with surplus food Monday to Friday from our Community Food Hub (CFH) based in Waiwhakaiho. We utilise volunteers for food sorting at our CFH Mon-Fri between 11.30am and 2pm. Taranaki Timebank needs helpers in North Taranaki, to run regular face to face Get Started Sessions. Each member attends one when signing up, you'll be introducing them to what Timebank is and how it works. Full training will be provided on what's required. You can nominate the dates/times that suit you. These are usually held as a group at Puki Ariki but you could also offer one on one sessions if you prefer.
