On The House is a charitable organisation reducing food waste and getting good, surplus kai to those whom need it. We operate bi-weekly popup frees stores direct to the public on Mondays and Thursdays with volunteer shifts running for an average of 2.5 hours between 2pm and 6.30pm. We also support the regions Foodbanks and Community Groups with surplus food Monday to Friday from our Community Food Hub (CFH) based in Waiwhakaiho. We utilise volunteers for food sorting at our CFH Mon-Fri between 11.30am and 2pm.
If you're interested in volunteering, we will put you on an induction shift to see how you find it and go from there :)

Do you have items you want to trade for time?
We have a couple of raffles planned, one with a focus on Winter Wellness (we will be selling tickets at the Hāwera Winter Festival), and Kai Resilience (We'll be drawing this one is spring at one of our workshops).
If you think you have something we could put into a box/basket to raffle off please get in touch!
Think warm blankets or slippers, hot water bottle cover (unsewn or knitted), wheat bags, dried lemons, honey, anything you enjoy in Winter!
For the Kai Resilience one anything garden or kitchen related would be wonderful.

Taranaki Timebank needs help with membership engagement and retention;
We need a couple of social people, who are passionate about Timebank and who enjoy networking.
These people, from any location, will engage with new members, helping them get Offers and Requests set up and start making trades, and encouraging quieter members to revisit and renew their profiles to encourage more trades.
If you are interested there is scope to learn to run Get Started Sessions face to face and on zoom and make updates to our database for accurate reporting. This is ongoing and tasks are shared.
This is mostly online via email and Zoom, with some in-person availability appreciated.
Timebank hours to be traded for time spent engaging with other Timebank Members.
For more information, please contact us on contact@taranakitimebank.org

Taranaki Timebank needs helpers in North Taranaki, to run regular face to face Get Started Sessions.
Each member attends one when signing up, you'll be introducing them to what Timebank is and how it works.
Full training will be provided on what's required.
You can nominate the dates/times that suit you. These are usually held as a group at Puki Ariki but you could also offer one on one sessions if you prefer.

Tēnā koutou,
Is writing press releases a breeze for you? Do you have connections to local media sources? We are keen to spread the word about our mission, the value of timebanking, and how we are contributing to our local communities.
Can be one off tasks or if you have time, it can be an ongoing role.
Drop us a line and let's discuss.
