Nature Cleanup at Waitara Beach - Sat. 25 July - 10am until 12pm Helpers Needed

Nature Cleanup at Waitara Beach, Otupaiia Marine Park and along the Waitara River on Saturday 25 July 10am (it is fine to be late!) - 12pm! Help us clean this beautiful location! This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome! ALL WELCOME! You do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full 2 hours. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED! 10am (or later) - Meet us at the Picnic tables along the Waitara River for a kōrero - briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag! BYO gloves & buckets if possible, but we'll provide some if needed! 12pm (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from the landfill) No RSVP required! Just show up! The aim of this event is: to clean this location the best we can to divert trash from the landfill to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation This event is part of Taranaki TimeBank and you can use your hours later to exchange skills, time and knowledge.
