Come and help us clean the Lee Breakwater, the Coastal Walkway and the surroundings!
This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome!
ALL WELCOME! You do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full 1.5 hours. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED!
Join the Snorkel Cleanup! 🤿
At the same time, a Snorkel Clean up is organised by the Ngā Motu Marine Reserve Society. If you are a confident snorkeler/freediver, you can sign up here (it is free, but registrations are mandatory): www.eventfinda.co.nz/2026/seaweek-snorkel-clean-up/taranaki
Meet at the Gate to the Breakwater for the Snorkel Cleanup.
Here is the plan for the Nature Cleanup on land!
5:30pm (or later) - Meet us at the main Lee Breakwater carpark, near the big sign (by the coastal walkway entrance) for a kōrero - briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag!
BYO gloves and buckets if possible, but we'll provide some if needed!
7pm (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from the landfill)
No RSVP required! Just show up!
The aim of this event is:
- to clean this location the best we can
- to divert trash from the landfill
- to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling
- to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation
See you on Monday 2 Mar. 5:30pm (or later!) at the Lee Breakwater!
This event is weather-dependent and may be postponed. A decision will be made 48h before the event. Stay tuned!

Would you love to create a stronger, more resilient body that is capable of doing what you love (gardening, traveling, hiking, cycling, dancing!?) and keep on doing those activities well into your old age? Movement is essential for health - exercise is not! Don't accept what everyone tells you that aches and pains are inevitable. Whether you're 28 or 68, moving more in ways that bring you joy, is so important in this day and age when technology has eliminated so much of the need to move. Create strength and fitness while strengthening your connection with your natural environment and community, by incorporating movement into your day.
A little bit about me:
I'm a postgrad student studying exercise physiology, and I've worked with clients from 18 through to 68. I love being outdoors, I love to climb and hike. I'm New Plymouth based.
