Nature Cleanup at Paritūtū Reserve on Thursday 5 March 10am (it is fine to be late!) Come and help us clean the beautiful Paritūtū Reserve (Centennial Park), Back Beach and surroundings! This event is family and young kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome! ALL WELCOME! You do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full 1.5 hours. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED! 10am (or later) - Meet us at the main carpark, top of the dune for a kōrero - briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag! BYO gloves and buckets if possible, but we'll provide some if needed! 11.30am (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from the landfill) No RSVP required! Just show up! The aim of this event is: to clean this location the best we can to divert trash from the landfill to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation This event is part of Taranaki TimeBank, and you can use your hours later to exchange skills, time and knowledge. Causas del cambio climático (qué lo provoca y por qué) Consecuencias ambientales, sociales y económicas Soluciones y acciones posibles a nivel individual y colectivo Buenas prácticas en sostenibilidad y consumo responsable Espacio abierto para preguntas, debate y reflexión No hace falta tener conocimientos previos. La idea es explicar conceptos complejos de forma sencilla, intercambiar puntos de vista y ganar conciencia para pasar de la preocupación a la acción. Hablemos de sostenibilidad con datos, ejemplos reales y sentido común
La Biblioteca de les Coses està ubicada al Lab Comunitari de Cardedeu, on hi conviuen diversos projectes vinculats a reutilització i les activitats comunitàries. (Reeduca, Espai de Bicis Comunitari, Bicihospital, Cardedeu Vital...) Oferim un espai diafan, amb taules, cadires i bullidor per fer infusions, que pot ser ideal per acollir diferents grups de suport mutu (grup de conversa, grup de ganxet, manualitats...) o per fer-hi activitats puntals com tallers de reparació, tallers d'utilització d'eines...

Come and help us keep compost and recycling out of landfill, keeping the beautiful Ngāmotu Beach area clean and tidy and helping the Seaside Market shoppers make the right decisions when disposing of their rubbish. There’s also the opportunity to help man the innovative wash trailer as the market now uses reusable plates and cutlery. It’s a great atmosphere and the public are so encouraged by what we do in this space. Shifts available in November: Sunday 2nd 9:30am-12noon and 12noon-2:30pm, Sunday 16th 9:30am-12noon and 12noon-2:30pm.

I am a passionate Harakeke (NZ flax) weaver and have been weaving for about 15yrs, I'm happy to help you wherever you are on your raranga (weaving) journey. I can do 1 on 1 lessons at my weaving studio in Whangarei, swapping an hour for an hour. Let me know what your goals are and what you want to weave! Alternatively we could try and do it on Zoom... never done that before, but happy to give it a go if you can't get to Whangarei! Best to email me as I'm often out harvesting in my flax pa!
