For those times when you help someone out who isn't a Timebank member just because you can! Log hours for time spent helping strengthen your community, whether it's helping a neighbour with shopping, gardening, picking their tamariki up from school, picking litter up on a beach walk etc. When recording your exchange please add what you did in the 'Description of service' box eg 'Random Acts of Kindness - local litter picking', or 'Random Acts of Kindness - giving neighbour a lift to GP' etc

Te Ara Rongoa needs volunteers to help with a wide range of activities, including planting, weeding, digging, clearing, composting to develop the hospital grounds organically and regeneratively. I would like to be better at star photography (astrophotography) by getting some tutoring from someone who has been doing this for a while. While I'm fairly proficient in normal photography, star photography is a different beast, requiring more tinkering with manual focus (or finding focus points in the dark), getting the right shutter speed / aperture / ISO ratio, and more. I have a high end "compact" Fujifilm XS-1 and an Olympus E-510 SLR (help with lens choice for astrophotography would also be appreciated)

The Mid Canterbury Rural Driver Licensing Scheme is looking for driving mentors to help our rural newcomers to learn to drive. You will need a full license, a sense of humour and to remain calm while your student learns a new skill. Our adult clients are rural and for most, English is a second language. It's a lot of fun and you meet some amazing people. We provide support and the clients provide the car for lessons. We also reimburse mileage to cover costs when you travel to meet your student.

Sometimes I need a ride to my parents place which is on Beach Road, 11km from my house on Cameron st. If someone can drop me there my parents can drop me home after my visit. Usually if I need a ride out there, it's between 4-5pm but I can't really schedule it too much in advance because of my health (see my profile for my health situation). If you are sometimes free at that time and wouldn't mind driving 11km to drop me off, often at short notice, please let me know. I am happy to reimburse the petrol costs, in addition to giving you the time credits. If I have a few people I can call on to take me then hopefully someone is available when I need it. To those who reply, thanks for being willing to be contacted about this from time to time. It's totally ok if you can't help when I request it. I will understand :-)

Hi there. I have an ongoing severe medical condition that is very debilitating. One of the things that helps a lot is massage (usually with a massage gun which I have). Whilst I do book proper massages from practitioners, these are often too much for me or hard to fit in around my other medical treatments (a part of my daily existence). I find it more helpful to just have short 15 minute back rubs or massage gun when it is needed. Sometimes this can be at short notice but usually there are three key times: early mornings if I have woken too early and not feeling well around 1.30-2.15pm, often this is as a preventative measure and enables me the rest that I need but that my body won't always give me sometimes around 5.30/6pm I will often know the day before or earlier in the day if there is a likely need as a preventative measure or after certain treatments- in these instances I can message to give a 'heads up' then text to confirm on the day whether it is needed or not. I am hoping to have a few people who are willing to do this so that I don't always have to rely on the same people, including my Mum who has a very heavy full time work load and volunteer load. You wouldn't be obliged to help every time I asked! It might be once or twice a month you could help for example. Often I can't talk or listen to others talk because anything involving neurological stimulus - noise, speech, interaction - is often difficult for me. Consequently I spend a lot of time alone. I do value company though and sometimes when my illness and pain is really bad, I just need someone there for support. If I am able to talk, I'd love to get to know you too. This one is still active. I would like to request if you could include a family of 3 (myself and my twin nearly 14-year-olds for your cooking. I will of course pay for the ingredients. We eat pretty much everything :) I feel like I cook the same food and would be nice to have something different. I am also very busy and it would be nice to have some cooked meals. I can pick up at your place. P.S. This would be an ongoing thing, so perhaps, if you could please choose a day that you will cook for us every week, that would be ideal. Otherwise, one-time cooking is also welcome
