My son is going to be clearing my gardens out, where we will have a bit of green waste to remove. Unfortunately we don't have a car with a tow bar. So looking for someone with a car to tow a trailer or small truck. I would give petrol money and time bank time. My son would go with you to empty at other end and pay disposal fees. Thanks Sandra

The families are from Afghanistan and are of Hazara ethnicity. The activities could include general companionship, conversational English language practice, transport, shopping assistance, babysitting, gardening, craft and anything else that would help a family settle into life in New Zealand. The Mid Canterbury Rural Driver Licensing Scheme is looking for driving mentors to help our rural newcomers to learn to drive. You will need a full license, a sense of humour and to remain calm while your student learns a new skill. Our adult clients are rural and for most, English is a second language. It's a lot of fun and you meet some amazing people. We provide support and the clients provide the car for lessons. We also reimburse mileage to cover costs when you travel to meet your student.

Sometimes I need a ride to my parents place which is on Beach Road, 11km from my house on Cameron st. If someone can drop me there my parents can drop me home after my visit. Usually if I need a ride out there, it's between 4-5pm but I can't really schedule it too much in advance because of my health (see my profile for my health situation). If you are sometimes free at that time and wouldn't mind driving 11km to drop me off, often at short notice, please let me know. I am happy to reimburse the petrol costs, in addition to giving you the time credits. If I have a few people I can call on to take me then hopefully someone is available when I need it. To those who reply, thanks for being willing to be contacted about this from time to time. It's totally ok if you can't help when I request it. I will understand :-)

Anybody going on a regular basis from Manaia/Hawera/Straford area that goes to New Plymouth on a regular basis who likes the idea of doing a car-share? Am occasionally also going to Levin and back, so if you wanting to share a car let me know. My car needs fixing and though it is running, don't want to do too many long distance trips. Happy to do short distance exchanges in the Manaia area to Hawera/Straford and back for the time being though. Car-share comes with shared fuel expenses
