Necesitaría la ayuda de alguien que pudiera cortar las malas hierbas de mi "jardín". Básicamente es el sitio para aparcar el coche, nada grande ni complicado. Si no tienes cortacésped, puedo intentar pedirlo a mi vecino :) Gracias!

Hi all, Connect Hurunui is holding a kids Christmas Gift Making day on Saturday the 11th of November at Connect Cottage in Amberley. We're looking for anyone who loves being around kids to come and help us. Our idea is to have a few craft items for kids to choose from to suit the adult they are gifting to. The kids might require help with the some of the crafts or with making gift wrapping. Its really just about being around and helping them achieve something they're proud of and excited to give. We expect the workshop to run for around 3 to 4 hours including morning tea. The exact crafts are to be confirmed and we will need to judge how much help we need based on the response to the workshops.

Hola! Necessitem d'algú amb experiència o traça per tallar unes fustes. Es tracta de prestatges llargs de 2,5 metres i 0,8 m d'ample i necessitem tallar-los per la meitat de llarg. Un veí ens pot deixar una serra elèctrica de mà per fer-ho. Però nosaltres no ens atrevim a fer-ho.

Kia ora, This is an ongoing, longer request for support establishing part of a wildlife corridor between the Pukenui and Otaika forests. We are regenerating bush on our property in Maunu, situated between the two reserves. Our priority is converting ~4 hectares of kikuyu-infested paddock into native bush. We've started planting ourselves, but we are going to need help. The long-term plan is to get the property protected in perpetuity as a QEII trust to preserve as wildlife and native bush preserve. The first step is replacing the grass with native plantings. What we are looking for to help make this happen: *Plants - Particularly pioneer species like manuka, kanuka, large harakeke, cabbage trees, Pittosporum crassifolium/karo, whau, red mapou, makomako, lacebark, mahoe, five finger, etc. Do you have a flat of manuka or kanuka seedlings? That can help! Splitting or removing a native? Send it our way! We also have shady marshy areas of paddock which need reforesting. *Mulch - We'll need heaps of mulch to protect our new plantings. Do you know where to get some? Will you have some? Can you dump some here? Unfortunately we don't have a truck for pickup. *Planting - Assuming we can get the requisite plants and mulch, we'll need help getting them in the ground. This is primarily a wintertime activity. *Money? - We've reached out to lots of departments and organizations about grants and funds to get any plants or mulch. Almost everyone is tapped out, or waiting until they get new guidelines for funding next year. We've signed up for notifications for a lot. We've also put in inquiries with private companies that share costs. Another option is crowd-funding through the community, but we're not currently pursuing that until we've run through the other choices. Thank you, J & E

We are looking for someone to do regular potting up of plants and cuttings in the Māra Tui, Kerikeri Organic. Once a week for a couple of hours, whenever it suits you would be ideal. Everything provided, just need some helping hands. Someone who can work independently or with a friend. We have pots, potting mix, seeds and various plants that need propagating. We would love to get a little nursery established. Get in touch if this is you!

The Kerikeri Crop Swap is on the 2nd and 4th Saturday each month at Māra Tui at Kerikeri Organic, 3pm-4:30pm. It's a wonderful gathering of generous people keen to share from their gardens, it's open to anyone and operates as a koha economy - we all walk away with fruit, vegetables and plants depending what's been shared. Our facilitators need an extra pair of hands or two to help with the set up and to tidy up afterwards. If you are already a crop swapper or are keen to check it out. Come along and offer to lend a hand. Roughly 2 hours twice a month. There are also opportunities to do some gardening in exchange for Timebank hours.
