Nature Cleanup at Waitara Beach this Saturday 15 Nov
Come and help us clean the beautiful Waitara Beach (West) and the Otupaiia Marine Park! 🏖️ 🧒 This event is family and kids-friendly! Your pēpi and tamariki are welcome! ALL WELCOME! ☀️ You do NOT need to be “fit” or stay for the full event. Any help is MUCH APPRECIATED! 🌿 10am (or later) - Meet us at Waitara Beach (west, corner of the Otupaiia Park) for a kōrero - briefing. Look for the Sustainable Taranaki flag! 🧤BYO gloves and buckets if possible, but we'll provide some if needed! 🌿 11:30am (or earlier) - Meeting back to drop off all the trash collected (we will separate all items to divert as much as we can from the landfill) No RSVP required! Just show up! 🌿 The aim of this event is: - to clean this location the best we can - to divert trash from the landfill - to engage and educate our community about waste and recycling - to create a fun and meaningful event for families to connect with the environment and take action towards bettering sustainability/conservation ⏱️ This event is part of Taranaki TimeBank and you can use your hours later to exchange skills, time and knowledge.
