Language instruction - quick and easy! All languages welcome!

Kia ora I am learning basic mihimihi in as many languages as possible, and anyone who speaks another language can help! It's a small ask, just meet me for a cuppa (I'm in Ngāmotu) and allow me to record you saying the 5 greetings below in your language. I will go away and learn these by heart so that I can give other people the basic respect of being greeted in their own language. In return, I can teach you how to greet people in te reo Māori, or donate Timebank currency. You can read more about the project in this article: https://e-tangata.co.nz/reflections/a-journey-of-one-hundred-languages. The 5 mihimihi are: Tēnā koe (Hello) Nō hea koe? (Where are you from?) Ko Makaira tōku ingoa (My name is Makaira) Ngā mihi (Thank you) Ka kite anō (See you later/goodbye) I'm also learning some responses to these (eg. Nō Parihaka au - I am from Parihaka). I record the speaker saying each phrase so I can practice and hopefully get all the nuances right. I've covered 25 languages so far: Hindi, Samoan, Mandarin, Afrikaans, Cook Islands Māori, Filipino, Gujarati, Hawaiian, French, Japanese, Malayalam, Tongan, Tamil, Fijian, Catalan, Italian, Niue, Marathi, German, sign language, Punjabi and Portuguese. I already speak te reo Māori, English and Spanish, and welcome the opportunity to learn greetings in any language that is new to me! Nō reira, mihi atu, mihi mai! Mouri ora, Makaira
